What is AI & Society?
AI & Society is a national, community-led initiative exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and the human experience. We host events — seminars, workshops, roundtables, lab sessions, and social meetups — across Australia, bringing together people from all backgrounds to have the conversations that matter.
Who is this for?
Anyone curious about AI’s impact on the world. Our community includes tech professionals, business leaders, policymakers, educators, designers, artists, students, and everyday people asking big questions. No technical background required — just curiosity.
What happens at an event?
Every event is a little different, but you can expect:
- A contextual opening from Sophia to set the theme and get the room thinking
- Keynote talks or panel conversations from expert guests
- Interactive workshops or group discussions
- Audience participation and Q&A
- Networking with a genuinely curious and diverse crowd

How do I get tickets?
All events are listed on our Meetup page. Most events are free or low-cost. RSVP through Meetup to secure your spot.
Where do events take place?
We run events across six Australian cities: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and Parramatta. Venues vary by event and are listed on Meetup. We choose spaces that foster innovation and conversation.
Can I speak or present at an event?
